      SENDMAIL SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

With the rev of this patch, Sun's sendmail for Solaris 7 is upgraded
from the old version 8.10.2+Sun to the new version 8.11.6+Sun. What
does this mean to you? Added security fixes and other new features.

Below you will find two sections. "MIGRATION CHANGES" describes behavioral
changes in 8.11.6+Sun, and provides advice to system administrators in using
it. "NEW FEATURES" lists the new features provided, and includes pointers
to additional information.

I. MIGRATION CHANGES

    1. Backwards compatibility

There are many improvements in 8.11.6+Sun over 8.10.2+Sun (see below).

Installing this patch will replace some of the old configuration
files with new configuration files. The old sendmail.cf
will be renamed with a .old extension, and the new main.cf and
subsidiary.cf files will be installed with a .new extension. The old
sendmail.cf can be used by restoring it. Use of the new files, however,
       is strongly recommended.

Two service entries named "submission" will also be added to the
local /etc/inet/services file with the installation of this patch.
Previous and custom service entries will obviously be preserved in this
       same file.

II. NEW FEATURES

New features available in 8.11.6+Sun

* For new features introduced with 8.11 please refer to the following:
