The minimum system requirements for MechWarrior 4: Mercenaries are:

• One of the following operating systems:
  • Microsoft Windows 98.
  • Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me).
  • Microsoft Windows 2000.
  • Microsoft Windows XP.
• 128 megabytes (MB) of random access memory (RAM).
• Approximately 1 gigabyte (GB) of available hard disk space.
• A 16 MB 3D video adapter is required. Microsoft recommends that you use a 32 MB video adapter.
• DirectX 8.0-compatible sound card with speakers or headphones.
• Multimedia computer with a Pentium 700 megahertz (MHz)-or-higher processor.
• 8x CD-ROM.
• Microsoft Mouse or other compatible pointing device.

The following hardware is optional:

• Modem, DSL, cable, 56 Kilobits Per Second (Kbps) for 8 players maximum; broadband for 16 players maximum.
• Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or later.

Note Microsoft Windows 95 and Microsoft Windows NT are not supported.
