Create a replica of the Schedule+ Free Busy Information public folder before you delete an administration group or move mailboxes across administrative groups in Exchange 2000 Server (271417)

In Exchange 2000 Server, you can create multiple administrative groups and place servers in different administrative groups. An administrative group is a collection of Exchange Server objects that are grouped together to simplify the management of permissions.

Although it is not possible to move servers between administrative groups, one of the benefits of running an Exchange 2000 organization in native mode is the ability to move a user's mailbox between administrative groups.

If you want to delete an administrative group after you have moved all of the mailboxes to another administrative group, you must rehome the Schedule+ Free Busy Information public folder to the new administrative group. To do so, you must set up replication of the old Schedule+ Free Busy Information public folder to the new public folder store before you delete the administrative group. You can configure the replica on the Replication tab in the properties of the public folder.

After you rehome the Schedule+ Free Busy Information public folder to the new administrative group, all moved users need to republish free and busy information by logging on with a mail client.
