PROBLEM: (TLAQ90041) (Patch ID: OSF440-046) ******** If a long message is sent to a user, and if delivery of the message would exceed the quota on the user's mail file, a partial message was delivered. The next mail sent to the user (assuming the quota problem has been corrected) would apparently disappear, having been logically appended to the previous, partially-delivered message. This replacement for binmail corrects this problem. PROBLEM: (94006) (PATCH ID: OSF440-822) ******** A potential security vulnerability has been discovered, where under certain circumstances, system integrity may be compromised when a buffer overflow occurs in the binmail (also called mail) utility. Buffer overflows are sometimes exploited in an attempt to subvert the function of a privileged program and possibly execute commands at the elevated privileges if the program file has the setuid privilege. HP has corrected this potential vulnerability.
