DEAR HP TRU64 UNIX CUSTOMER:

Thank you for your continued support of the HP Tru64
UNIX Operating System software.  Please read this
letter before installing or using this product.  This
release is designed to expand hardware platform and
component support for HP Tru64 UNIX and HP TruCluster
Server products, and is only supported on Versions 5.1A
and 5.1B.

WHAT IS THE NEW HARDWARE DELIVERY CD-ROM?

The purpose of the Tru64 UNIX New Hardware Delivery
(NHD) kit is to enable delivery of support for new
hardware without having to provide a new release of the
operating system.  This allows you to install new
hardware without having to update your operating
system.  The NHD CD-ROM provides only those modules
necessary to support the new hardware, thereby causing
minimal incremental change to your operating system
environment.

INFORMATION ABOUT THIS CD-ROM:

The HP Tru64 UNIX New Hardware Delivery-6 for V5.1A and
V5.1B CD-ROM contains support for the following

INSTALLATION

HP Tru64 UNIX New Hardware Delivery-6 for V5.1A and
V5.1B leverages functionality inherent in the latest HP
Tru64 UNIX Version 5.1A and V5.1B Patch Kits. For
optimum performance as well as support from HP Customer
Services, you must install the most recent HP Tru64
UNIX Version 5.1A or Version 5.1B Patch Kit, depending
on which version of the operating system you are
running, when you install the NHD product.  You can
download the latest Version 5.1A or 5.1B Patch Kits
from http://ftp1.support.compaq.com/public/unix/v5.1a/
or http://ftp1.support.compaq.com/public/unix/v5.1b/
and install them either before or after you install the
NHD kit.
