     Kit Dependencies:

       The following remedial kit(s) must be installed BEFORE
       installation of this kit:

         DIGITAL UNIX DCERTSECO2030

         You must install the DCE for DIGITAL UNIX DCERTSECO2030 subset 
         before installing the Privacy Option.  In addition, this product 
         requires roughly 4000 kilobytes of free disk space in 
         /usr/opt/DCEECO2030.

       In order to receive all the corrections listed in this
       kit, the following remedial kits should also be installed:

         None 
                                                

ECO KIT SUMMARY:

An ECO kit exists for Digital Distributing Computing Environment (DCE)
V3.0 on Digital UNIX V4.0 through V4.x.  The following is addressed
in this DCEPRIVECO2030 kit:

  o  The DCE for DIGITAL UNIX Version 3.0 ECO2 Privacy Option kit 
     installs the DCEPRIVECO2030 subset. This subset contains a 
     replacement runtime library for DCE Version 3.0 ECO2, named 
     /usr/shlib/libdce.so, that enables the optional privacy level 
     of encryption for RPC packets. Refer to the DCE for Compaq
     Tru64 UNIX (formerly Digital UNIX) documentation for information 
     on how to access privacy features using the RPC API.

The following is addressed in the DCEPRIVECO1030 kit:

  o  The DCE for DIGITAL UNIX Version 3.0 ECO1 Privacy Option kit 
     installs the DCEPRIVECO1030 subset. This subset contains a 
     replacement runtime library for DCE Version 3.0 ECO1, named 
     /usr/shlib/libdce.so, that enables the optional privacy level 
     of encryption for RPC packets. Refer to the DCE for DIGITAL
     UNIX documentation for information on how to access privacy
     features using the RPC API.


INSTALLATION NOTES:

Use the setld utility to install this product from the CD-ROM distribution
media. The following example illustrates the installation commands using
rz4 as the CD drive device and /mnt as the mount point for the CD-ROM
distribution media:

# mount -r /dev/rz4c /mnt
# setld -l /mnt

Refer to the DCE for DIGITAL UNIX Installation and Configuration Guide for
instructions on how to install DCE for DIGITAL UNIX.


DELETING DCEPRIVECO2030:

To delete the Privacy Option subset, log in to the system as root and
execute the following command:

# setld -d DCEPRIVECO2030

Removing the DCEPRIVECO2030 subset will reinstate the original version of
libdce.so.
