ECO KIT SUMMARY:
An ECO kit exists for ACMSxp V3.1 for Digital UNIX Alpha on Digital
UNIX V4.0B.
o Server creation may fail with large number of procedures
If a server had a large number of procedures it could take a long time
for the server to be created if the sfs server didn't crash in the
process of creating the server.
o txcomfnclim error shuts down queue server
When the ACMSxp queue server signalled the error txcomfnclim the
queue server would shutdown. If the queue server signals this error
the queue server does not shutdown.
o ALIST pop error signalled by queue server
The ACMSxp queue server on occasion would cause the ALIST POP error
to occur in the sfs server ascii log file.
o Queue server failover problem
If the queue server had a task server binding cached and the task server
was shutdown for an extended period of time, failover for that task
server would no longer work properly.
INSTALLATION NOTES:
Installation Overview
---------------------
Please refer to the V3.1 ACMSxp for DIGITAL UNIX Installation Guide
for more detailed information.
Log in as superuser (login name root) to the system
where you are installing ACMSxp for DIGITAL UNIX.
Make sure that you are at the root (/) directory by
entering the following command:
# cd /
Specify the /cdrom directory to be the mount point for
the distribution file system on the drive. If your drive
is ra1, enter the following command:
# mount -dr /dev/ra1c /cdrom
Enter a setld command that requests the load function
(-l) and identifies the directory in the mounted
file system where ACMSxp for DIGITAL UNIX subsets are
located.
For example, if the directory location for these subsets
is /cdrom/AXP/acmsxp/bin, enter the following command:
# setld -l /cdrom/AXP/acmsxp/bin
The installation procedure now displays the names of
ACMSxp for DIGITAL UNIX subsets and asks you to specify
the subsets you want to load.
