ECO KIT SUMMARY:

An ECO kit exists for PEDRIVER.EXE on OpenVMS VAX V6.0 through V6.1.
This kit addresses the following problem:

o Nodes in an LAVC (Local Area VAX Cluster) may CLUEXIT in mixed
Ethernet/FDDI environments. When FDDI-sized buffers are in use
and a duplicated SCS hello message arrives from the Ethernet,
PEDRIVER closes the channel and re-opens it to negotiate the
     smaller buffer size.

When the channel is closed the VAXcluster is put in the
closed state, then is immediately put into the open state.
This leaves the datastructures in an inconsistent state and
     causes messages to be lost.

INSTALLATION NOTES:

In order for the corrections in this kit to take effect, the system
must be rebooted. If the system is a member of a VMScluster, the
entire cluster must be rebooted.
