ECO KIT SUMMARY:

An ECO kit exists for SYSDEVICE.EXE on OpenVMS AXP V1.5.  This kit
addresses the following problems: 

  o  The system can be crashed by passing a wrong argument to the $QIO
     system service that causes an access violation error.  An example
     of such a case is passing a zero to a required argument that
     takes an address.  A normal input argument access violation
     problem should not crash the system. 

     This problem only occurs to mailbox device.


INSTALLATION NOTES:

In order for the corrections in this kit to take effect, the system
must be rebooted.  If the system is a member of a VMScluster, the
entire cluster should be rebooted.
