UPTOMP.EXE
==========

PROBLEM:

The UPTOMP utility that ships in the Windows NT 4.0 Resource Kit may fail to
copy the WIN32K.SYS file if you do not have any Service Packs installed. For
more information please refer to the Microsoft Knowledge Base article Q142660.

RESOLUTION:

Download and install the Microsoft Windows NT Service Pack 4 from

http://support.microsoft.com/support/ntserver/content/servicepacks/default.asp

 - or - 

1. Locate the file Win32k.sys on the Windows NT 4.0 compact disc, and copy
   it to the System32 directory. 

   NOTE: The file might be compressed as Win32k.sy_.
   Use Expand.exe to uncompress the file.

2. Download the updated UPTOMP.INF file from this ftp directory and place it
   in your local Resource Kit folder. This folder is typically C:\NTRESKIT.
