This patch fixes this condition. On Tru64 UNIX 5.1A there is a potential loss of updated data in files opened for directIO when writing in increments smaller than 8k. This ERP kit includes the fix for the "Multi-volume AdvFS v3 domains exhibit EIO errors" portion of Service Advisory TD 2986-C-CR. The Patch Kit Installation Instructions and the Patch Summary and Release Notes documents provide patch kit installation and removal instructions and a summary of each patch. Please read these documents prior to installing patches on your system. The patches in this ERP kit will also be available in the next mainstream patch kit - Tru64 UNIX 5.1A Patch Kit 3. INSTALLATION NOTES: Install this kit with the dupatch utility that is included in the patch kit. You may need to baseline your system if you have manually changed system files on your system. The dupatch utility provides the baselining capability. INSTALLATION PREREQUISITES: You must have installed Tru64 UNIX 5.1A PK1 (BL1) prior to installing this Early Release Patch Kit.
