AlphaServer SC V2.5 UK1 patch kit 99655

This patch contains fixes for the CFS file system issues reported in

the PTRs and/or IPMT cases listed below.

You will need to build and deploy kernels and reboot all nodes to

install this patch. This patch cannot and should not be installed

on the management station.





Summary of fixes:

=================



1. Removes an incorrect assertion in CFS that could lead to a node

   panic under high load conditions. This panic is most often seen

   on file importing nodes during boot or failover operations.

This is a UK1 patch and will not work correctly on a V2.5 SSB system.

Instructions:

SCV25UK199655 is provided as a setld installable kit. Unpack it

into a directory that is NFS mounted on all domains e.g.

/usr/kits/SCV25UK199655 and install it as follows.



    # cd /usr/kits/SCV25UK199655

    # scrun -d all setld -l /usr/kits/SCV25UK199655 SCV25UK199655



Now build and deploy the kernels. Make sure all nodes are up so

that kernels will be built on all nodes



    # scrun -d all BuildKernels

    # scrun -d all DeployKernels



Now shutdown and reboot all nodes to complete the installation.

To remove SCV25UK13721 use the following commands:



    # scrun -d all setld -d SCV25UK199655

    # scrun -d all BuildKernels

    # scrun -d all DeployKernels



Then shutdown and reboot all nodes.
