ECO NUMBER: ACMSE02042 ----------- PRODUCT: DIGITAL ACMS for OpenVMS -------- UPDATED PRODUCT: DIGITAL ACMS for OpenVMS 4.2 ---------------- APPRX BLCK SIZE: 21987 ---------------- ACMS V4.2 ECO2 Kit Description ------------------------------ This ECO kit revises ACMS V4.2 or V4.2-1 to V4.2-2 and can be applied to ACMS V4.2 development, runtime, and remote kits on both OpenVMX VAX and Alpha. ECO2 resolves the following problems: o Corrects a problem with the ENQLM quota on OpenVMS V7.1 (VAX and Alpha) allowing ENQLM to now be set to a virtually unlimited value. o Corrects a problem determining the ENQLM value. The higher of the PQL limit or the AUTHORIZE value is used now. o Corrects a potential problem with process contention by taking the process priority for the ACMS EXC and server processes from the application user's SYSUAF.DAT authorization record. o Corrects a 10-20 second delay when shutting down the ACMS ACC process or exiting from an agent on OpenVMS ALPHA V7.1. o Corrects a potential problem causing an access violation when linking very large applications with the ADU LINK command. o Corrects a potential infinite process loop resulting from an access violation (ACCVIO) or a reserved operand fault (ROPRAND) for processes linked with ACMSHR. o Corrects a problem which could occur when a large number of errors occur at the same time. On Alpha systems, the ACMS_SWL process would sometimes abort with an ACCVIO in this situation. Installation Overview --------------------- This ECO updates the ACMS V4.2 runtime system by replacing specific ACMS image files. The installation procedure will supply the appropriate VAX or Alpha images for your system environment. After the ECO is installed, additional details can be found in the ECO release notes at: SYS$HELP:ACMS042_ECO2.RELEASE_NOTES. This ECO kit is intended for installation on either an OpenVMS VAX V6.2 or an OpenVMS ALPHA V6.2 or higher system. Installations on other versions of OpenVMS are not supported and will yield unpredictable results. Before installing this ECO, the ACMS system must be stopped. Use the DCL command: ACMS/STOP SYSTEM. To install this ECO invoke the VMSINSTALL command procedure, as outlined in Chapter 3 of the OpenVMS System Manager's Manual. The installation procedure will check that ACMS is stopped and that ACMS V4.2 is installed on the system. After the installation procedure completes, a system reboot is not necessary. However, prior to restarting ACMS, SYS$STARTUP:ACMSTART must be re-run to install the updated images. Copyright (c) Compaq Computer Corporation 1999. All Rights reserved.
