The menu always shows only the "C" locale, no matter what other locales are available on the system. Without this language selection mechanism, language variant -- COVER LETTER -- Page 2 16 April 1999 kits of DECwindows Motif will not work, because the user cannot select the language to be used in the New Desktop session. This problem is fixed in the remedial kit. o The DECwindows Motif V1.2-5 New Desktop session does not start when the default language is not "C". After entering the username and password, the New Desktop window manager will terminate and the front panel will not be displayed. The default language may be specified in SYS$COMMON:[CDE$DEFAULTS.SYSTEM.CONFIG]XCONFIG.DAT or by selecting Options - Language - English (United States) from the New Desktop login screen. This problem results in language variants not working properly.
