On a system with a graphics card and monitor which support VESA Display Power
Management Signalling (DPMS), the monitor can become stuck in power-save mode
or the screen can flicker on and off when the X server screen saver is turned
off, DPMS is enabled, and the mouse is moved to bring the display out of
power-save mode.  The display does not come out of power-save mode correctly
until you press a key on the keyboard or click a mouse button.

This problem is particularly noticeable on ALPHAbook 1 systems.

This patch fixes a problem where the X server may generate a core dump during
shutdown on a dataless management services (DMS) client system.

This patch fixes a problem that prevents an X server from starting.  The
following error message is displayed:

        Fatal server error:
        Cannot establish any listening sockets.
        Make sure an X server isn't already running.

The patch allows the S4 application to work with v4.0* versions of UNIX.
