When running the X server with a font server in its font path, if the font
server goes away, the X server starts consuming almost all of the CPU time
on the system.

If you repeatedly add and then remove font servers from the X server's font
path, the X server will eventually run out of sockets because the X server
is not releasing sockets correctly.
