ECO KIT SUMMARY:

An ECO kit exists for Micro Focus COBOL V4.0A on DIGITAL UNIX V3.2 through 
V4.0.  This kit addresses the following problems: 

  o  NWB48485  The COMPUTE statement produces incorrect results with 
               .gnt code.  The decimal point is misplaced one space
               to the right.

               Example:

                   COMPUTE SUM1 = (A1 + A2 + A3) / 60
               where SUM is defined as PIC 9(11)V9(1) and
                     A1, A2, A3 are PIC 9(13)

     Release Notes Information

     The release notes for Micro Focus COBOL V4.0A-1 contain informa-
     tion specific to the products on DIGITAL UNIX, including a summary
     of known problems and restrictions.


INSTALLATION NOTES:

  o   Installing Micro Focus COBOL requires DIGITAL UNIX Version 3.2.
      This version of the Micro Focus COBOL products has also been
      tested with DIGITAL UNIX Version 4.0.

      The distribution of the Micro Focus COBOL Developer Suite is pro-
      vided in the form of an ECO kit. The product is provided complete
      on the kit. The tar file of MFCE0140A.tar must be unpacked before
      using the setld utility to install the kit. Be sure to use the
      setld -d option to deinstall the product prior to the installation
      of this version. The documentation within the unpacked tar file
      includes this document, the Micro Focus COBOL Installation Guide
      for DIGITAL UNIX, and the Micro Focus COBOL Product Release Notes.
      The documentation is provided in POSTSCRIPT[R] and ASCII forms in
      the following directory.

       o  The Micro Focus COBOL documentation and installation subsets
         are in the directories:

            /mfce0140a/documentation
            /mfce0140a/kit

      The Micro Focus COBOL Installation Guide for DIGITAL UNIX has
      not been updated with this release. The guide remains accurate
      with the exception of the new version numbers described within
      the examples. The current subset directory for Micro Focus COBOL
      Developer Suite is mfce0140a. The corresponding subset names are:
      MFCBASE402, MFCDOC402, MFCMAN402.
