For processes with very large working sets (hundreds of thousands of pages) this can mean several seconds at IPL8. This causes other things to break, time-out, etc (for example cluster connections). This problem is corrected in OpenVMS VAX V6.2 4 PROBLEMS ADDRESSED IN VAXSYS02_061 KIT o Starting with OpenVMS V6.0, creating a detached process or a subprocess will result in permanently losing 4 pages from the process page file quota. Repeat spawning will deplete the process page file quota. 5 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: Install this kit with the VMSINSTAL utility by logging into the SYSTEM account, and typing the following at the DCL prompt: @SYS$UPDATE:VMSINSTAL VAXSYS16_061 [location of the saveset] -- COVER LETTER -- Page 2 2 May 1996 The saveset location may be a tape drive, or a disk directory that contains the kit saveset.
