ECO KIT SUMMARY:
An ECO kit exists for LOGINOUT.EXE on OpenVMS VAX V6.1. This kit
addresses the following problems:
Problems addressed in the VAXLOGI04_061 kit:
o No audit of a password change from LOGINOUT.
There will be no audit records written or displayed after a
user is prompted for, and successfully enters, a new password
at login time.
Problems addressed in the VAXLOGI03_061 kit:
o 'SHOW INTRUSION' and 'SHOW INTRUSION/OLD' DCL Commands
display erroneous intrusion records because LOGINOUT
does not set bits properly.
Problems addressed in the VAXLOGI02_061 Kit:
o OpenVMS VAX V6.1 does not have a logical name for a remote node's
fullname on a network login. If the process is a network
login, this correction has LOGINOUT define SYS$REM_NODE_FULLNAME
to be the contents of the remote node's fullname,
ctl$gq_remote_fullname.
Problems addressed in the VAXLOGI01_061 Kit:
o If the terminal device goes offline, LOGINOUT hangs in an
endless retry loop while prompting for a new password.
A constant flow of failed login audits is also generated.
INSTALLATION NOTES:
No reboot is necessary after successful installation of this kit.
However, if you have other nodes in your VAXcluster, they should be
rebooted or you should install this kit on each system in order to make
use of the new image(s).
