HP Services Software Patches - msap_e01013

NOTE: An OpenVMS saveset or PCSI installation file is stored
on the Internet in a self-expanding compressed file.
The name of the compressed file will be kit_name-dcx_vaxexe
for OpenVMS VAX or kit_name-dcx_axpexe for OpenVMS Alpha.

Once the file is copied to your system, it can be expanded
by typing RUN compressed_file. The resultant file will
be the OpenVMS saveset or PCSI installation file which
can be used to install the ECO.

ECO KIT SUMMARY:

An ECO kit exists for PATHWORKS for OpenVMS (Macintosh) V1.3 on OpenVMS
VAX V5.5-2 or greater and OpenVMS Alpha V6.1 or greater.

Problems addressed in the MSAP_E01013 kit:

o Fixed error messages when printing from Windows 95.

Messages sent by the printer are parsed to see if they are status,
errors, or user data. All status or error messages start with the
characters "%%[". The symbiont assumed that these were never user
data. The Windows 95 driver produces PostScript which sends back
     %%[ Page: 1 ]%% and %%[ LastPage ]%%. The symbiont thought these
     were errors.

Treat messages which do not have a known keyword following the %%[
     as user data.

INSTALLATION NOTES:

The system/cluster does not need to be rebooted after this kit is
installed. However, the Print Server must be shutdown and restarted
using the following commands

   ADMIN/MSA STOP PRINTER/ALL
   ADMIN/MSA START PRINTER/ALL

in order for all kit changes to take effect.

NOTE: If you do not wish to restart the servers at the time of the
installation, it will automatically occur the next time the
       system is rebooted.
