SOURCE: Digital Equipment Corporation

     ECO Kit Name: AXPCLIU01_061

ECO Kit Approximate Size: 700 blocks
Kit Applies To: OpenVMS AXP V6.1
     System Reboot Necessary: No

ECO KIT SUMMARY:

An ECO kit exists for SHOW.EXE on OpenVMS AXP V6.1. This kit addresses
the following problems:

Problems addressed in the AXPCLIU01_061 kit:

o In OpenVMS AXP V6.1, SHOW was changed to take advantage of
$GETDVI's new DEVICE_TYPE_NAME item code to eliminate redundant
tables of device type<->device type name translations. $GETDVI,
however, does not handle spooled devices properly and returns
information about the intermediate device rather than the terminal
     device.

This fix simply demands that $GETDVI tell SHOW about the actual
terminal. This is identical to the processing performed by
DCL's lexical function F$GETDVI which already returns the
     correct answer.

INSTALLATION NOTES:

The system does not need to be rebooted after this kit is installed.
However, if you have other nodes in your VMScluster, they should be
rebooted or you should install this kit on each system in order to make
use of the new image(s).
