If the tape drive is an external table-top model or if it is in an Exabyte library, you will need a straight-through DB9-male to DB9-female serial cable. If the tape drive is an internal model, you will need an Exabyte Diagnostic cable (also known as a Monitor cable) to connect to the Monitor port on the rear panel of the drive.
