Video Poker for Windows Version 1.0 For Microsoft Windows 3.1 Copyright Elton Inada 1993 Video Poker for Windows (VPOKER) is a shareware game based on the popular video poker machines found in many casinos. List of files provided in the VPOKER package: README.DOC - One page summary of VPOKER VPOKER.TXT - This file which gives an overview of VPOKER VPOKER.EXE - Windows 3.1 executable VPOKER.HLP - On-line help file for VPOKER.EXE REGFORM.TXT - Registration form REQUIREMENTS The following is required to use Video Poker for Windows: - PC running Microsoft Windows 3.1 - VGA display in 640x480 resolution or higher. HOW TO INSTALL OR RUN Copy all the Video Poker files into a directory, for example \VP. If you only want to run Video Poker without installing it into a Program Group, start Windows and run Video Poker by using the Program Manager's File | Run option. For instance, if you put the Video Poker files in \VP, you would select the File | Run option and specify \VP\VPOKER.EXE as the command line. To install Video Poker into a Program Group start Windows and use the Program Manager's File | New option to add VPOKER.EXE. For example, you might 1) select a Program Group (for example, Games), 2) from the Program Manager's File | New option select Program Item, 3) specify VPOKER.EXE as the command line, and 4) specify its directory (for example, \VP) as the working directory. ON-LINE HELP There is further documentation and help information available once you are running Video Poker. There is both a standard help menu and context-sensitive help. SOUNDS If you have the Windows 3.1 PC-speaker sound driver installed (available for free on many BBS's), the sound effects will play through your PC's speaker, however, the sound effects sound much better with a sound card. Be sure to have your sound card's Windows driver installed. REGISTRATION Video Poker for Windows is not a free program; it is copyrighted and distributed as Shareware. You may try the program for up to thirty days for free, but if you decide to keep it, you must register the program. A registration reminder notice is displayed every time you run the unregistered version of the program. The unregistered version of Video Poker for Windows is not "crippleware." It is full featured and functionally identical to the registered version except for the reminder notice. HOW TO REGISTER A copy of the registration form is in the file REGFORM.TXT. It may be printed from DOS or by using the "File | Print" function in Windows Notepad or Windows Write. The registration form may also be printed from the game's help facility.
