WinDIMG32 0.1 Release Notes 7 June 2010 =============================================================================== This release of WinDIMG32 should be considered a development release. It is not feature complete and no doubt has plenty of bugs (especially as its the very first release). This release includes only the following programs: * SIMG - A simple floppy disk imager System Requirements: * For Intel and compatible systems: - Microsoft Windows NT 3.51 or newer - Pentium 75 or faster processor - 16MB of RAM * For RISC-based systems: - Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 (3.51 may work but is untested) - DEC Alpha 166MHz EV4 processor or faster - 16MB of RAM Available Documentation: A1SI-HL01.001 -- WinDIMG32 Help (Windows Help Format) License: See the COPYING file which you should have received with this distribution. This software is licensed under the GNU General Public License Agreement, Version 2 or (at your option) any later version. Known Issues: - If opening the drive fails you may get a memory allocation failed error - The program may be slow to respond while imaging. The cancel button may not respond instantly. Current Limitations: - Windows 9x is NOT supported in this release - There is no ability to retry in the event of a read or write error - Reformatting is NOT supported. When writing an image to disk the target disk must be preformatted in the same format as the disk image. If the disk is unformatted or formatted with a filesystem Windows does not understand writing will fail. If this occurs first format the disk with windows. - Compatibility with disk formats other than 3.5" high density (1.44MB) have not been tested. 5.25" or DMF formats may work or they may not. Changelog: See the CHANGES file which you should have received with this distribution. ================================================================================ A1WD-RN01 David Goodwin
