rapi_getfd(3)
NAME
rapi_getfd - Get the file descriptor for the Resource ReSerVation Protocol
(RSVP) daemon's socket
SYNOPSIS
#include <rapi.h>
int rapi_getfd(
rapi_sid_t Sid );
LIBRARY
RAPI Library (librsvp.so, librsvp.a)
PARAMETERS
Sid Specifies the session handle that was returned by a successful call to
the rapi_session() routine.
DESCRIPTION
The rapi_getfd() routine obtains the file descriptor associated with the
UNIX socket connected to the RSVP daemon, rsvpd. An application typically
calls this routine after a call to the rapi_session() routine has completed
successfully and before a call to the rapi_release() routine. When a socket
read event is signaled on this file descriptor, the application should call
the rapi_dispatch() routine.
A call to the rapi_getfd() routine for different RAPI sessions might return
the same file descriptor.
RETURN VALUES
Upon successful completion, the rapi_getfd() routine returns the file
descriptor. If the session handle is illegal or undefined, the routine
returns a value of -1.
