abstract

This file is for customers that have already installed the NetWare 4 Support Pack 8. This updated LONG.NAM is included in the Support Pack 8a.

LONG.NAM for NetWare 4.11/4.2 version 4.11g.

installation

Prior to installing any update to your server you should ensure that you have a reliable backup.

1. Copy the LONG.NAM file into the SYS:SYSTEM\ directory, replacing the current LONG.NAM.

2. Copy the LONG.NAM file into the c:\NWSERVER directory, replacing the current LONG.NAM.

3. Down and restart the NetWare server to implement the new LONG.NAM module.

issue

This version of LONG.NAM prevents a situation where the extended attributes associated with the directory entry could become corrupted. This issue would generally manifest itself as a corrupted or invalid long file name.
