Requires VLM version 1.20 or greater and Windows 3.1. This utility has not been tested in any other environment other than Windows 3.x.
1. Extract this file into the desired directory.
2. Copy BWCC.DLL to the windows\system directory (unless a copy already exists).
3. Create a Windows icon for HOSTDEV.EXE, specifying the directory where the files were extracted as the working directory, or simply use File | Run to execute the program.
4. If desired, delete the directory installed to and the windows icon upon completion of the desired changes.
Instructions for using the Host Device Change Utility:
1. Login to the Directory Tree as Admin or another user with sufficient rights to modify objects in the tree.
2. Run the Host Device Change Utility.
3. Browse the Directory Tree and select the Print Server object which requires a change.
4. Click on the "Change Host Device" button.
5. Browse the Directory Tree again and select the File Server which is desired as the new host device. 6. Click on the "Modify" button.
7. Repeat as necessary until all Print Server objects have been modified to have the desired server as the host device.
Note: Please note that this utility has not been through Novell's testing process but has been tested by it's creator and shown to successfully modify the host device property of a print server object for which you have rights. Use this utility at your own risk.
