The ability to rebuild a remote desktop was not included with Apple's System 7 Operating System.
With NetWare for Macintosh 2.x and 3.x, you must rebuild the desktop using one of two following options:
Option 1:
Rebuild the desktop from a System 6.x Macintosh workstation or a System 7.x workstation booted with a System 6.x System diskette.
Option 2:
Rebuild the desktop using the Dayna's Rebuilder utility included in REBLD.SEA file. (This utility also ships with Dayna's NetMounter product.) The Rebuilder can be used on a Macintosh workstation running the System 6.x or 7.x operating system.
To use this utility, do the following steps:
1. Copy the Dayna Rebuilder utility to your Macintosh local hard disk.
2. Log in to the NetWare server from your Macintosh Chooser as Supervisor and mount the volumes that you wish to rebuild on your desktop.
3. Launch the utility by double-clicking on the Dayna Rebuilder icon.
4. A dialog box will appear on your desktop. At this point, highlight the volume that you wish to rebuild and click on the Rebuild button. If you wish to rebuild multiple volumes, hold down the <Shift> key, highlight each volume you want to rebuild, and click on the Rebuild button.
5. A status bar will appear on the desktop. A dialog box stating that each desktop that has been successfully built will appear when the rebuilding is complete. For the Finder to recognize each new Desktop, you may need to restart or unmount and remount each rebuilt volume.
