This release of the Novell TCP/IP stack can be installed on any of the platforms listed below:
1. Map the SYS volume of
the server from the Windows client.
2. Create a directory WEBREL1
in the SYS volume of the server.
3. Copy WEBREL1M.EXE in
the WEBREL1 directory on the server.
4. Run the WEBREL1M.EXE
on the server from the client. The server will ask for the directory name
and by default
it will take INSTALL as the directory name. If it fails to do so provide
the directory name as INSTALL.
5. You will get the following
files in the directory:
1. WEBREL1\INSTALL\TCPIPMIL.NLM
2. WEBREL1\INSTALL\IPSHIMP.NLM
3. WEBREL1\INSTALL\TCPCON.NLM
4. WEBREL1\INSTALL\TCPCFG.NLM
5. WEBREL1\INSTALL\TCPIP.MPM
6. WEBREL1\INSTALL\NLS\4\TCPCFG.MSG
7. WEBREL1\INSTALL\NLS\4\TCPCON.MSG
8. WEBREL1\INSTALL\MILINSTALL.PL (install script for the 128-bit encrypted
TCPIP.NLM)
9. WEBREL1\INSTALL\MILUNINSTALL.PL (uninstall script for the 128-bit encrypted
TCPIP.NLM)
10. WEBREL1\INSTALL\README.TXT
11. WEBREL1\INSTALL\ADMINGUIDE.PDF
To load the 128-bit encrypted
TCPIP, type
perl sys:webrel1\install\milinstall.pl
on the server console.
2. Restart the server for the changes to take effect.
To uninstall the 128-bit
encrypted TCPIP, type
perl sys:webrel1\install\miluninstall.pl
on the server console.
2. Restart the server for the changes to take effect.
1. The script will work only on NetWare 5 and later versions. For older versions of NetWare you would need to manually copy the required files.
2. Before running any other install script, always run the uninstall script of the NLM whose install script you have already run. For example, if you want to check the secure TCPIP.NLM and you are already working with normal TCPIP.NLM, first run their uninstall script then run the new install script and restart the server. If you do not do this you will loose the old NLMs and message files.
3. Never run any install script twice in succession. If you run an install script more than once in succession you will loose old nlms and msg files.
4. Never run the uninstall script before the install script. If you run the uninstall script first you will loose the webrel nlms and msg files.
5. Never run any uninstall script twice in succession. If you run the uninstall script more than once in succession you will loose the webrel nlms and msg files.
6. Never run any uninstall script whose install script you haven't run. If you run the wrong uninstall script you will loose two tcpip.nlms: one whose install script you have run and one whose uninstall script you have run.
