-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GroupWise 5.1/5.2 for Macintosh client. Version 5.22 April 2, 1998 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is an updated GroupWise 5.1/5.2 for Macintosh client. It is a full install - it does not patch existing code. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Download Instructions -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This file is a MacBinary file that will decode into a Stuffit self-extracting archive. If your browser is set to automatically expand MacBinary files, then it will decode the bin file and expand the sea file. The result will be a folder called gm52usc2 Folder. Open this folder from a Macintosh and you will find the GroupWise 5.2 Installer script, a folder, Mac, containing the GroupWise 5.2 Mac client views, and a ReadMe file. You may also copy the file, gm52usc2.bin, to a local drive or a network volume that supports Macintosh files. Use Stuffit Expander or another utility that can expand MacBinary files to decode the file. The result is a file called gm52usc2.sea. On a Macintosh, double-click this file and it will self-extract to create the folder, gm52usc2 Folder. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Installation Instructions -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Run the GroupWise 5.2 Installer to install the client to the local drive. You can post this file on your network. Your Macintosh users can run the installer from the network to install the client to their local drive. Follow the instructions to successfully install the client. NOTE: The Mac client views must be present in the \ofviews\mac directory of each post office where users will access their mailbox with the Mac client. Copy the contents of the Mac folder to each post office \ofviews\mac directory if they are not already present. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Conversation Place -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Conversation Place was removed from the GroupWise 5.1/5.2 Client for Macintosh. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mac GroupWise Client Bugs Fixed Since August 1997 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- US English or General Bugs -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Selecting Export your Calendar caused an "Invalid Date Range_" error to be displayed, and the client crashed. The Mac remote client would not work with a modem if the machine's default language was anything other than English. Setting up a delete rule caused a crash. You could not set up a filter based on the version number. There were problems building filters with the Mac client. Some messages created by the Windows client would cause a crash when opened. The "Save, check-out" and "Custom views" File Location preferences weren't sticking. Custom views weren't accessible in the Print dialog. Shared folder items were appearing to not download when logged in Remote. Appointments, Tasks and Notes were being downloaded when logged in Remote, even if they were requested to be filtered out. Bullets in the message text caused subsequent characters to disappear. The 68K version was hanging or crashing at login time. Attachments couldn't be printed from the applications they were created in. The tab order in an appointment view from Windows was nonsequential, and the resulting appointment couldn't be delegated. In Print Preview, choosing "Other" for the preview size would cause a crash. A font size of 10 (replaced by 12) or less was being lost in received messages. The "Due In" field of a Task was changing to 15,000+ days. Duration in days was being changed to duration in hh:mm. Extended characters were disappearing from text viewed in the SCC Viewer. "Reply to All" wouldn't work if the sender CC'd herself. Long names in the "All filters" dialog were overlapping other text. When two or more appointments, tasks or notes were printed in a calendar view, the text would collide. Speller wasn't emulating the Windows Speller in replacement word selection. Maximum message size was around 8K (it's been increased to 32K). The preference for double-click behavior in an outbox list was incorrectly applying to inbox lists also. Messages with many different styles were causing a crash when sent. Japanese-Only Bugs -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Japanese Hankaku Katakana characters weren't supported. The "[] Contains" filter did not work properly. Clicking the Of the Month popup in the By Example panel of the Autodate dialog was causing a crash. The GroupWise guide wouldn't come up. The GroupWise Guide couldn't be searched for information. To field name order was incorrectly . The text coloring menu item wouldn't come up. Name searching didn't work in the Address Book. Name completion didn't work in the Address Book. Characters were being displayed as garbage Roman characters. Double-byte characters were sometimes being displayed as two single-byte characters in the Document Sharing window's column list. If the first character(s) of a message were Hankaku Katakana, garbage characters would follow. A double-byte name in a To field would be displayed as garbage if followed by a single-byte name. Document Management documents couldn't be searched for double-byte text. Non-US English, Non-Japanese-Only Bugs -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Text was wrapping at the wrong place, specifically just after an 'L' or an 'N', in the message text box and various dialogs in the application (Spanish only). Print margins in centimeters were being rounded up from 2.5 to 3. Date/time controls weren't wide enough to show all characters in some languages.
