Account: 'MSN Mail', Server: 'pop3.email.msn.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '.', Port: 110, Secure (SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC00. - Unable to logon to server using secure password authentication Components. Account: 'MSN Mail', Server: pop3.email.msn.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '.', Port: 110, Secure (SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC18 You may also receive the following error message when you attempt to connect to an MSN Premier Web page: Access denied. CAUSE ===== This behavior can occur if the Windows 95 registry contains incorrect information. RESOLUTION ========== To resolve this issue, follow these steps: 1. Click Start, point to Find, and then click "Files or Folders". 2. In the Named box, type "msapsspc.dll msnsspc.dll" (without the quotation marks), and then click Find Now. 3. In the list of found files, right-click each file, and then click Delete. Continue until the list of found files is empty. 4. Close the Find: Files Named Msapsspc.dll Msnsspc.dll window. 5. Insert the MSN CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive. Press and hold down the SHIFT key when you insert the CD-ROM to prevent the MSN Setup program from starting automatically. 6. Double-click My Computer. 7. Right-click the MSN (CD-ROM drive) icon, and then click Explore. 8. Double-click the Ie40 folder or the Ie401 folder. 9. Double-click the Ie4setup.exe file. Follow the instructions on the screen to install Internet Explorer. 10. When you receive the message stating that the most recent versions of some or all items are already installed, click Reinstall All Components, and then click OK. 11. When you are prompted to restart the computer, do so.
