SYMPTOMS
========

After you upgrade to version 1.2 of MSN, The Microsoft Network, mail in
the Outbox may be marked as having been sent, but may not be sent.

CAUSE
=====

The mailbox may be damaged or flags may not have been set during the MSN
1.2 upgrade.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this issue, run Mlset32.exe. To do so, follow these steps:

1. Click the Start button, and then click Run.

2. In the Open box, type the following line, and then click OK:

      c:\progra~1\Micros~1\mlset32

A message stating "Configuring Microsoft Exchange" appears. When the
message disappears, the configuration is done.

If the problem persists, run the Inbox Repair Tool using these steps:

1. Click the Start button, point to Programs, point to Accessories,
   point to System Tools, and then click Inbox Repair Tool.

2. Type the path and file name for your mail (.pst) file. Or, click
   Browse, select your mail file, and then click Open.

3. Click Start.

If the problem still persists, follow these steps:

 1. Start Windows Explorer.

 2. Rename the Exchange folder to Exchng.

 3. Create a new folder named Exchange.

 4. Close Windows Explorer.

 5. Use the right mouse button to click the Inbox icon on the desktop,
    and then click Properties on the menu that appears.

 6. Click Personal Folders, and then click Remove.

 7. Click Personal Address Book, and then click Remove.

 8. Click Add. Click Personal Address Book, and then click OK.

 9. Click Add. Click Personal Folders, and then click OK.

10. In the Create/Open Personal Folders File screen, click the Exchange
    folder.

11. In the File Name box, type "Mailbox.pst" (without quotation marks).

12. Click Open.

13. Click OK. Close the Exchange Properties window.

If you want, you can drag your original Mailbox.pst and Mailbox.pab files
to the new Exchange folder (after renaming the new Mailbox.pab and
Mailbox.pst files).
