Works: How to Invert Sign of a Range of Numbers in a Spreadsheet (93357)

SUMMARY

The following procedure inverts the sign of a range of numbers in the spreadsheet module of Microsoft Works for Windows. All positive numbers will be made negative and all negative numbers positive. Note that any formulas in the selected area will be lost.

  1. Select the area for which the sign is to be reversed.
  2. From the Edit menu, click Copy.
  3. From the Edit menu, click Clear. This will remove the information from the highlighted area.
  4. From the Edit menu, click Paste Special.
  5. Select Subtract Values and click OK.
The selected area will now contain the original numbers, but with the positive numbers negative and the negative numbers positive.
