You cannot connect Bluetooth devices after you install the Wireless Laser Mouse 8000 on a computer that does not have the latest version of the IntelliPoint software installed (925911)

SYMPTOMS

You install the Microsoft IntelliPoint 6.0 software that is included with the Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 8000. At the end of the installation, you are prompted to download the latest version of the Microsoft IntelliPoint software so that you can connect other Bluetooth devices. When you try to do this, the software is unavailable for download.

Additionally, when you try to connect other Bluetooth devices by using the transceiver that is included with the Wireless Laser Mouse 8000, you cannot connect the Bluetooth devices.

CAUSE

These problems occur because you must install the IntelliPoint 6.02 software to connect other Bluetooth devices. The IntelliPoint 6.02 software is currently unavailable for download.

RESOLUTION

To resolve these problems, periodically visit the following Microsoft Web site to check the availability of the latest version of the Microsoft IntelliPoint software:

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
