An outgoing e-mail message that includes disclaimer text causes the AntigenInternet.exe process to stop responding in Antigen 9.0 for Exchange (924008)

SYMPTOMS

You use Microsoft Antigen 9.0 for Exchange in your organization. When you try to send an e-mail message that includes disclaimer text, the AntigenInternet.exe process stops responding. Additionally, you may receive "exceeded Internet time-out" errors.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if the disclaimer text that the e-mail message includes contains characters from a code page that is not present on the computer.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Microsoft Antigen 9.0 for Exchange service pack that contains this hotfix.

There are no prerequisites for installing this hotfix.

Restart requirement

You do not have to restart the computer after you apply the hotfix. This update will stop and then restart the SMTP service and the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service. However, if these services cannot be stopped for any reason and certain files are left open, you may have to restart the computer to complete the hotfix installation.
