SYMPTOMS

When you use Microsoft Windows Server Multipath I/O (MPIO) for disks that are presented by an iScsi host bus adapter (HBA), no MPIO-managed disks or logical unit numbers (LUNs) are available.

Note This problem occurs when you use the Microsoft StorPort storage driver (StorPort.sys) in Microsoft Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 1 (SP1).

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the StorPort storage driver provides the wrong bus type for disks that are available by an iScsi HBA. When this occurs, MPIO is unable determine whether pseudo-LUNs for these disks should be created. Therefore, MPIO does not create pseudo-LUNs for these disks.
