Printed page numbers always start at 1 when you print a range of pages in Visio (923699)

SYMPTOMSWhen you print a range of pages from a multipage drawing in Microsoft Office Visio 2003, the printed page numbers always start at 1. This problem occurs even if the range of pages starts at a page that is not the first page.CAUSEThis problem occurs if you use a page header or a page footer in Visio to automatically number the printed pages.WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, follow these steps:
- On the View menu, click Header and Footer.
- Delete the text from any Header or Footer box that contains &p.
Note The &p is the page number character. - Click OK.
- On the Standard toolbar, click the Text Tool icon.

On the page on which you want the page number to appear, draw a text box.

On the Insert menu, click Field.

Click Page Info, click Page Number, click General, and then click OK.
Repeat these steps for each page on which you want a page number to appear. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
