Printed page numbers always start at 1 when you print a range of pages in Visio (923699)

SYMPTOMS

When you print a range of pages from a multipage drawing in Microsoft Office Visio 2003, the printed page numbers always start at 1. This problem occurs even if the range of pages starts at a page that is not the first page.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if you use a page header or a page footer in Visio to automatically number the printed pages.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, follow these steps:
  1. On the View menu, click Header and Footer.
  2. Delete the text from any Header or Footer box that contains &p.

    Note The &p is the page number character.
  3. Click OK.
  4. On the Standard toolbar, click the Text Tool icon.
  5. On the page on which you want the page number to appear, draw a text box.
  6. On the Insert menu, click Field.
  7. Click Page Info, click Page Number, click General, and then click OK.
Repeat these steps for each page on which you want a page number to appear.
