SUMMARY

If you delete the Contact Manager tool in one of the following Groove workspaces, you cannot restore Task assignments to e-mail contacts:
  • the Advanced Project toolset workspace
  • the Task & Meeting Management workspace

MORE INFORMATION

Consider the following scenario. You delete the Contact Manager tool from one of the following Groove workspaces:
  • the Advanced Project toolset workspace
  • the Task & Meeting Management workspace
After you delete the Contact Manager tool from the workspace, the tasks that are assigned to non-Groove users who had been listed in that tool as e-mail contacts become unassigned.

You cannot restore assignments for those contacts. Even if you add a new Contact Manager tool, you still cannot restore assignments for those contacts. However, the Groove users of that shared workspace are not affected.

The tools that are contained in the workspace templates have some interdependencies. When you delete the original Contact Manager tool from an Advanced Project toolset or a Task & Meeting Management workspace, the dependency is broken.

You cannot transfer this dependency to a new Contact Manager tool that you add to the workspace. Because you cannot transfer the dependency, tracking project contributors that meet the following requirements is affected:
  • Project contributors who are non-Groove users.
  • Project contributors who are included as e-mail contacts in the workspace
All the missing contacts now appear as Missing Contact in the Assign To column. However, you can still re-assign the task to Groove members that are listed in the workspace.

To reestablish dependencies and assignments to project contributors that are not Groove users, you must migrate the information to one of the following:
  • a new Advanced Project toolset workspace
  • a new Task & Meeting Management workspace
