Introduction

This article describes how to use a new location for temporary files in Groove Virtual Office or in Groove Workspace.

MORE INFORMATION

Groove uses the folders that are configured in Microsoft Windows to store temporary files. If you want to change the location where Groove creates these temporary files, you must configure the user environment variables for the TEMP and TMP directories to point to a new location. For example, you can put all temporary files on drive D on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows XP. This includes Groove temporary files. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Create a new folder that is named Temp on drive D.
  2. Right-click My Computer, click Properties, click the Advanced tab, and then click Environmental Variables.
  3. In the User variables list, click TEMP, and then click Edit.
  4. Remove the current value, type D:\Temp, and then click OK.
  5. In the User variables list, click TMP, and then click Edit.
  6. Remove the current value, type D:\Temp, and then click OK.
  7. Exit Groove.
When you restart Groove, it will use the new location for temporary files.
