The approval status appears as Install instead of Mixed on the Windows Server Update Services Administration site (921895)

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. You select an update on the Microsoft Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) Administration Web site. You then select the Install option for one computer group and the Not approved option for another computer group. In this scenario, the approval status appears as Install instead of Mixed.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs when you select only the Install option and the Not approved option. If the Detect only option is also selected, the approval status appears as Mixed.

MORE INFORMATION

The Mixed approval status appears only when two actions are selected. Because Not approved is not an action, it is ignored when the approval status is calculated.
