Xbox 360: You cannot access or use downloadable game content because it has become corrupted (921272)

SYMPTOMS

You cannot access or use downloadable game content because it has become corrupted.

CAUSE

As of June 2006, the cause of this behavior is unknown.

THINGS TO TRY

  1. Delete the downloadable content, and then download the content again. To delete downloadable game content that is corrupted, follow these steps:
    1. Sign in to Xbox Live by using your gamertag.
    2. In the Xbox Dashboard, select System, and then press the A button.
    3. Select Memory, and then press the A button.
    4. On the Storage Devices screen, select Hard Drive, and then press the A button.
    5. On the Hard Drive screen, select Games, and then press the A button.
    6. On the Games screen, select the appropriate game title, and then press the A button.
    7. On the individual game screen, select the downloaded content that you want to delete, and then press the A button.
    8. On the content screen, press the A button to delete the content.

      Note Delete is the only option that is available on this screen.
    9. On the Delete Item screen, select Yes, and then press the A button to confirm the deletion.
    10. On the individual game screen, press the B button four times to return to the System section.
    11. Start the appropriate game, and then sign in to Xbox Live to download the game content again.
  2. If you delete the downloadable content and the issue is not resolved, delete the game.

    Note When you delete a game, you will lose all saved game data.

    To delete a game, follow these steps:
    1. Sign in to Xbox Live by using your gamertag.
    2. In the Xbox Dashboard, select System, and then press the A button.
    3. Select Memory, and then press the A button.
    4. On the Storage Devices screen, select Hard Drive, and then press the A button.
    5. On the Hard Drive screen, select Games, and then press the A button.
    6. On the Games screen, select the appropriate game title, and then press the Y button.
    7. On the individual game screen, select Delete, and then press the A button.
    8. On the Delete Item screen, select Yes, and then press the A button to confirm the deletion.

      Note When you delete a game, you also delete all the saved contents that are associated with that game.
    9. On the Games screen, press the B button three times to return to the System section.
    10. Start the game again.
