  • Microsoft Windows 2000 Server
  • Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional
  • Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server

SYMPTOMS

After you apply Update Rollup 1 for Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 (SP4) to any computer on a network, Terminal Server users may no longer be able print to a printer that is attached to the LPT1 port. If you try to print from a Terminal Server session, you receive the following error message:
Printers Folder There was an error found when printing the document 'No Document Name' to LPT1:. Do you want to retry or cancel the job?
This error message occurs whether you print from an application or try to print a test page. Additionally, if you uninstall the printer and reinstall a different brand or model of printer from the Terminal Server session, you still encounter this problem. Also, this problem occurs for all users. This includes members of the Administrators group.

However, you do not experience this problem when you try to print from a local computer or from a network computer.
