Duplicate appointments appear in your calendar when you accept an update to a meeting invitation in Outlook Web Access (918438)

SYMPTOMS

When you accept an update to a meeting invitation in Microsoft Outlook Web Access, Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 creates two appointments in your calendar.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if the following conditions are true:
  • The first meeting invitation is accepted in Microsoft Outlook.
  • The meeting update is accepted in Outlook Web Access.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 service pack that contains this hotfix.
