FIX: An invoking CPI-C application does not communicate with an invokable TP when the invoking CPI-C application has a file name that has more than 15 characters in Host Integration Server 2004 (917819)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Host Integration Server 2004

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Host Integration Server 2004, an invoking Common Programming Interface for Communications (CPI-C) application does not communicate with an invokable transaction program (TP). This problem occurs when the invoking CPI-C application has a file name that has more than 15 characters.

When this problem occurs, no errors are returned. Soon after the invoking CPI-C application is started, it closes without communicating with the partner invokable TP.

If you rename the invoking CPI-C application to a file name that has 15 characters or fewer, the invoking CPI-C application successfully communicates with an invokable TP.
