FIX: The chart label values may be displayed incorrectly for the y-axis when you use the Chart control in SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services (917526)

Microsoft distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services fixes as one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services fix release.

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Dundas Chart control to render a chart in Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services-based reports, the chart label values may be displayed incorrectly for the y-axis. For example, the y-axis minimum value will be adjusted to a lower value.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when the following conditions are true:
  • The y-axis margins are turned on.
  • The minimum y-value of all data points is a nice integer value. For example, the chart control will round 4.0 to 4.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services service pack that contains this hotfix.

Prerequisites

To apply this hotfix, you must have SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services installed on the computer. You must have installed SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 1 if you want to apply the cumulative hotfix package (build 2153).

Restart information

You do not have to restart the computer after you apply the hotfix.

Registry information

You do not have to change the registry.

This hotfix contains only those files that are required to correct the issues that this article lists. This hotfix may not contain all the files that you must have to fully update a product to the latest build.
