INTRODUCTION

This article discusses how to use the "Report a problem" function in Groove Virtual Office 3.x when your default browser is Opera.

MORE INFORMATION

In Groove Virtual Office 3.x, you can report a problem to Groove from the application. To do this, click Report a problem on the Help menu. When you do this, Groove assembles diagnostic files, and then opens your default Web browser to submit the report.

This procedure works with most browsers. However, Opera does not handle the file types that are required to use the "Report a problem" function when Opera is the default browser. To use the "Report a problem" function when Opera is the default browser, configure Opera to include the following three file types:
  • HTML documents
  • XML documents
  • URL shortcuts
To do this, press ALT+P to open the Opera's Preferences dialog box, click Default application, and then click to select these file types under File types handled by Opera.

If the "URL shortcuts" file type is not selected, you see the Report a problem function as expected. However, when you then click Submit Report, you receive the following error message:
Error 404 - Page not Found
The error message has a URL that indicates a request time-out.

Note If your organization uses a customized MSI package to install Groove, the Report a problem function may not be available to you. In this case, report problems to the internal helpdesk at your organization. The third-party products that this article discusses are manufactured by companies that are independent of Microsoft.
