This update introduces a limit of 512 KB on the size of the document property stream. When this limit is exceeded, custom document properties are removed from the file. You can use a registry key to override this limit:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Common] "MaxPropsStreamSize" = dword:08000000

This will set the limit to 128MB. This limit is the maximum value that is allowed by the key. Any value larger than 128MB will be treated as 128MB. Also, any value smaller than 512 KB will be treated as 512 KB.
