Error message when you try to start a Works program: "Cannot run Unicode version of ATL71.dll" (916839)

SYMPTOMSWhen you try to start a Microsoft Works program, you may receive the following error
message: Cannot run Unicode version of ATL71.dll on Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows ME. Please
install the ANSI version. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, test to see whether one or more of the shortcuts to start Works has
Compatibility Mode enabled.
To do this, follow these steps: - Click Start, point to All Programs, and then point to Microsoft Works.
- Right-click Microsoft Works Task Launcher, and then click Properties.
- Click the Compatibility tab.
- Click to clear the check boxes that are selected.
- Follow steps 1 through 4 to fix the other shortcuts in the Microsoft Works section where you receive the error message.
