CAUSE
This problem may occur if the following conditions are true:
- You use the Microsoft Windows Preinstallation Environment (Windows PE).
- You use the CENATEK RAMDisk tool.
In this scenario, the network adapter may remain active when the computer starts Windows PE. When the Plug and Play (PnP) manager tries to assign the interrupt request level (IRQL) resource to the network adapter, the adapter generates an unexpected interrupt.
RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Windows Server 2003 service pack that contains this hotfix.

- Double-click the hotfix file to extract the Setupldr.exe file.
- Save the file to a familiar location or to a temporary folder.
- Locate and right-click the Ntldr file in the \REMINST\Setup\Lang\Images\ImageName\i386\templates folder.
- Rename the Ntldr file to ntldr.old.
- Copy the Setupldr.exe file to the \REMINST\Setup\Lang\Images\ImageName\i386\templatesfolder.
- Right-click Setupldr.exe, click Rename, type ntldr, and then click OK.
