Supported implementations of Message Queuing in clustered solutions (916700)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Message Queue Server (MSMQ) 3.0
- Microsoft Message Queue Server (MSMQ) 2.0
INTRODUCTIONThis article discusses the supported implementation of
Microsoft Message Queuing 3.0 and Message Queuing 2.0 in clustered solutions
other than network load balancing.MORE INFORMATIONMicrosoft Message Queuing is fully tested and supported
by using Microsoft Cluster Services (MSCS) as was included with Microsoft server
operating systems.
Message Queuing has not been tested on
any third-party solution. Microsoft cannot guarantee the functionality of
Message Queuing when it is deployed in these environments.
Message Queuing
depends on MSCS to provide access to resources before, during, and after
failover. If Message Queuing is implemented in a third-party clustering
solution, that solution is responsible for providing the same
underlying support.
When Message Queuing is installed on a third-party clustering solution or a third-party solution that modifies the behavior of MSCS, Microsoft Product Support Services (PSS) will try
to help a customer troubleshoot and provide support for Message Queuing related issues. PSS will
try to help a customer who has these issues until PSS reasonably believes that
the cause of the issue is an incompatibility between the third-party clustering
solution and Message Queuing. The issue may not be reproduced in a fully
supported Message Queuing clustering environment, such as MSCS clustering on a
Windows Catalog certified cluster system. In this scenario, PSS may refer the affected customer
to the vendor of the third-party clustering solution or suggest removing the
third-party solution to help resolve the issue.REFERENCESFor more information about PSS, visit the following Microsoft
